Maryland Concealed Carry Fundamentals (CCW Initial)

A comprehensive course covering the US Law Shield's curriculum on concealed carry considerations, home defense planning, legal responsibility, and defensive judgment for responsible armed citizens. This class along with the live fire range qualification satisfies the education requirement for the Maryland Wear & Carry Permit. Range fees, gun rental, and ammunition are NOT included.

 Classroom instruction includes: 

• The Four Universal Gun Safety Rules
• Understanding different types of firearms and their function
• Situational awareness, de-escalation, and conflict avoidance
• Maryland firearm law and the legal implications of firearm use
• Understanding reciprocity
• The Use of Force Continuum
• What to do after a defensive encounter
• Developing a home and personal protection plan

 Range instruction includes: 

• Safe firearm handling
• Range safety and etiquette
• Basic shooting techniques
• Proper stance and grip
• Aiming and sight alignment
• Trigger control and follow-through
• State-mandated 25-round qualification course of fire
  (A minimum score of 70% is required to pass the class.)

Range, fingerprinting, and application fees are not included.
